This article is imported from the Zoroaster wiki. See the import log for details.

This class is like the Samurai from the Rokugan book, not from Oriental Adventures.

Ancestral Item[edit | edit source]

Remove Ancestral Daisho. Add Ancestral Item at 1st level, either a flame weapon or a Wondrous Item that may have a cost equal to the cost of the Ancestral Daisho.

Interpolated Ancestral Item Table[edit | edit source]

This is an extrapolated Ancestral Item table with values for the levels in-between the regular levels. For a samurai, who can only spend his points on weapons, the intermediaty levels are rather uninteresting, but for an Imperial Noble, they play a big role.

The following table has interpolated values between the values used in the regular table. It also lists what kind of regular enchantment you get at this price.

Boldface item values correspond exactly to the original table.

Level Ancestral Item Cost Weapon Bonus (Comparison only) Attribute bonus, Resistance bonus/Bracers of Armor Natural Armor/Deflection AC bonus Other AC bonus (ie Dodge) Skill bonus (normally max +5 to any one skill) Spell Resistance Boots of Haste (rounds/day)

Epic Items have their cost reduced to 1/10 of their original price.

Items that scale[edit | edit source]

Items that appear in the DMG or OA that produce the same result but with differing bonuses (from +2 to +6, normally), scale according to the table above. Other items do not scale. All items can be used by anyone, though, if they have enough divine spiritual energy. See the Item proposal.

What if the Item is too hard to use?[edit | edit source]

If you get your hands on an item that is too hard to use, you can promptly meditate upon the item 1 day/level it is too hard to use, see the item table, investing 1 point of Void/day meditated semi-permanently into the item. Tada! You can now use your magic item. If you ever want to stop using your item, meditate upon the item again, and regain the Void, 1 Void per day meditated.

Making Complex Items[edit | edit source]

If building your item yourself, remember that extra effects beyound the first cost double- unless the DM judges them to be ancilliary to the main effect, in which case the first one costs 75% normal and the rest cost 50% normal.
