Amber/Cosmology
Introduction[edit | edit source]
Cosmology[edit | edit source]
The Multiverse of Hong Kong Amber is built like a giant world map, with Los Angeles and Hong Kong on opposite sides. All possible shadow countries are strung up between them. The order of the shadows is a conceptual one. To go from Hong Kong to Los Angeles you can pass Great Britain, Spain, South America and up through Texas. The shadows that look like the Earth's past, present and future are real, filled with strong currents of energy, while other, more exotic ones have to be reinforced to become powerful. Beneath all of this lies the 10 000 Hells. It is said to lie "beneath" everything because you can get to it from anywhere in the Multiverse. Around the Multiverse lies the great tree of Yggdrasil, shielding it from unknown terrors.
Locations[edit | edit source]
The Labyrinth[edit | edit source]
The Labyrinth that keeps the Pattern safe is a weave of caverns and tunnels below the Po Lin Monastery. The Labyrinth is called the Bowels of the Serpent by the Lords of Chaos. Other names include the Netherworld, the World Below and the Void Caverns. The Labyrinth extends between all places, especially those of power, and can be traversed by someone with a Major Power.
